Family Adventure Bargain Alert: Max and Ruby by Moonlight

Max and Ruby by Rosemary Wells

Lately here in Northern San Diego County it seems like we have been so blessed with fun kids events that it’s hard to choose.  On Saturday Jared, Destiny and I will be heading to a musical theatre production of Max and Ruby at the Moonlight Ampitheatre in Oceanside.  If you haven’t attended something at this performance venue , you must give it a chance.  It’s casual and outdoors atmosphere  makes  it the perfect place for an early theatre experience.  This particular production is by Theatreworks/USA a professional  New York Theatre group.

How much would you expect to pay for this spectacular production????  The unbelievable price is $5 a ticket.  Order yours here.  Gates open at 5:30 curtain goes up at 5pm.

Hope to see you there!

Cow Poke Jared, Camp Pendleton Stables in Oceanside

If you are active duty military or related to someone who is you might want to consider a visit to Stepp Stables at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California.  They offer horse boarding, day camps, trail rides and other great activities.  Through my kid’s preschool we had the opportunity to attend a fieldtrip there.  Bring plenty of carrots.  The horses love the snack, almost as much as the kids love feeding it to them.

The following pictures are a testament to the resiliency of my sweet daughter and the magical dedication of her  preschool teacher.  Destiny insists on living life on her own terms at all times.  As you can see from the first picture, she didn’t want to join Jared on the trail ride because she was worried about riding the horse.  She stayed behind with her teacher, and by the time I returned with Jared she had vanished.

Photo Friday: Lavandaria Mission San Luis Rey

Destiny, Jared, and Justin Climb the Steps at the Lavandaria at Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside California

Destiny, Jared, and Justin Climb the Steps at the Lavandaria at Mission San Luis Rey, Oceanside California

I have a lovely blog entry in my head about a weekend pilgrimage that Justin and I did right before Lent here in San Diego.  Now is not the time to write it however!  In the mean time enjoy this picture of the beautiful lavandaria (laundry area) at the Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside California.  I really enjoyed visiting this mission.  It had a great little museum, beautiful church, and this fun outside area to explore.  Justin particularly enjoyed the gargoyles and we had fun trying to figure out why the water spouts had these Incan looking gargoyles at a Catholic Mission.  If anyone has the answer let me know.

Since this is one of my more aesthetically pleasing pictures, I am entering in in my friend Debbie’s Photo Friday Roundup at Delicious Baby.  If you want to see travel photos by bloggers more skillful than I, please check it out at http://www.deliciousbaby.com/journal/2009/mar/12/photo-friday-home-food-rome/ .

Happy Trails,

Bridget
