On my latest road trip I learned a valuable lesson, never leave your purse where your preschoolers can access it. I had shoved my purse behind the center console of my SUV, only to discover that my five year old, Destiny had found my camera and taken 50+ pictures. (Good thing it was digital!) At first I was rather dismayed, but as I took a look, I got a fresh perspective on our 400+ mile trip from San Diego to Santa Cruz.
So here is Destiny’s Photo Essay:
Justin loved riding up front. He talked my ear off.

What fun! My daughter likes to sneak my phone out of my purse and surprise me with 50 odd pictures of….the dog!
Kids love camera and I mean real camera.
We got them the kiddie one but the viewing screen is too small that they can’t really enjoy their own masterpieces. So recently, I gave my daughter the old digital camera and she is going crazy taking everything.
Look like he can have a future in photography!
I like how your daughter was snapping away pictures of her brother as evidence. Not that you’d need the photographic proof or anything…So that’s actually a great idea to keep the kids busy on a roadtrip: cameras and lotion. I’ll try one of them on my next trip.
Very cool! I love the shots your daughter took. It is interesting to see what kids choose to shoot.
We actually bought my son a camera and he’s not showing much interest in photo taking. So I have a bit longer to see what our trips look like thru his eyes:)
A photo journalist in the making. Fun shots!
Too funny!
Giving kids an older camera to learn on sounds like a great idea, and you never know what gems they’ll end up taking you’d otherwise missed. The lotion? Doesn’t sound like such a great idea!
Looks like camera is next on my list of things to source for my busy kits! That is fantastic, I love that she just charged and took 50+ pics – very cool!
