Subscribe Feed (RSS)Ok, I screwed up. I was trying to post a comment on the blog and ended up entering the “Mondays are For Dreaming” blog round up instead. Oh well, it gives me a chance to show off my cute kid pictures from this weekend.
I am dreaming of the perfect camping trip. Somewhere far away and wooded. It should include a lake for canoeing and fishing, flush toilets and showers, a campsite and trails that allow dogs, lots of trails to explore, and plenty of boulders to climb on.
On this perfect trip I would cook healthy gourmet meals and the whole family would eat them cheerfully. The kids would entertain themselves effortlessly with twigs and dirt. Someone would watch the other kids so I could go on stress free jaunts with each one individually. Perhaps I would be able to squeeze in a solo sunrise hike. I would have remembered everything including socks for each member of the family and tent poles! Oh, and every kid would eagerly pose for pictures with a perfect smile.
OK, that’s my dream camping experience. Now on to what happened this weekend:

Too funny! Sounds like a great trip regardless of the missing tent poles. And I thought camping was for eating whatever, whenever. Calories and nutrition don’t count in the great outdoors…it’s like eating the ice cream from the carton!LOL
You need to head to Grover Hot Springs in Alpine County, near Tahoe for that perfect camp out(missing the lake, but has a river and the showers including a pool and hot spring pool! Hiking and the boulders too!)
We missed our annual camp out, but got a lot done here on our own 2 1/2 acre forest/campground/farm. The camper is ready to go and it sounds like we’ll be heading out Mid-June for sure…even scoping a new remote lake up here in NorthWest Montana. I’ll be passing on the link to the 101 things to do in the Flathead soon with some awesome camping spots too.

Missing tent poles! Bummer. That would be a surprise. Looks like Daddy got the better deal if you ask me!
I call this a happy error! I love the sentiment expressed at the beginning, the photos, and the actual narrative! And you know, I think there’s something to be said for sm’ores followed by pizza followed by a crowded night in a small tent. It will certainly be memorable! Thanks for posting Bridget.
I’ve taken pizza back to the campsite. It’s a very popular camping food. Funny post!
